Granted, this video only has my experience up until level cap in the localization of Blade and Soul but I think my stance is pretty firm and my impressions or review aren’t likely to change after that.
For Blade & Soul Korean players, they will finally get the exciting feature this week on March 23rd, as they’ll be able to change the gender and race of their characters. Players probably have to pay some real cash to make this happen and we don’t know the exact currency or how much it will cost yet. Along with the announcement, here’s a preview trailer for the gender/race change.
NCsoft has released new Unchained update for Blade & Soul, making Warlock class available for everyone. The new ranged class casts powerful spells but restricted by long cooldowns and vulnerable armors.
Along with the new class, B&S gets new dungeon Naryu Labyrinth and challenge instance Mushin’s Tower – Floor 8. On the other hand, new round of class balance will be made in the next update.
Blade & Soul’s new class Warlock will be released on March 2. It’s for sure that many players will play the new class, whether as alt character or main character. Blade & Soul had quite a smooth launch on January 19 and NCsoft had started preparing large scale content update for the western version (after all it has been far behind the KR and CN versions). Still hope NCsoft and B&S GMs keep detecting and killing bots because the game has got over a million players and is still growing.
While NA and EU version of Blade & Soul will introduce in the 8th class Warlock next, the Chinese version is getting the 9th class Soul Fighter. The biggest Chinese MMO website 17173 reports that Soul Fighter is exclusive for Gon and Yun Races.
Soul Fighter combines Force Master and Kungfu Master’s combat style and becomes a flexible DPS capable of both melee and ranged attack. You can switch between kungfu mode (melee) and force mode (range) through “TAB” button. From the feedback in the test server, Soul Fighter seems a bit overpowered, which is not surprised. It’s predicted that many players will start over as Gon Soul Fighter, because Yun has female character only.
The Blade Dancer is a true hybrid, taking the Blade Master’s damage and stances, and combining it with the Force Master’s elemental focus and stacking buffs.
Blade & Soul’s next new class will be a combination of Kungfu Master and Force Master in terms of fighting style. We don’t have an official English name for the 9th class in Blade & Soul but we could say it’s a Force Kungfu Master :D. Steparu has made a video showing the new class’ fighting abilities. The new class will be first available in Korean server along with the December expansion. The new expansion unlocks chapter 7 story, a brand-new region, as well as some new dungeons. You can learn what’s new in this expansion in previous preview.
